The journal was first published in 2001. It focuses on communication research, theories, systems, methods, policies, and applications in communication, providing its readers with the latest, broadest, and most important findings in communication studies. As a scholarly journal of communication, Mediator provides a leading forum for academic researchers, industry professionals, consultants, managers, educators, and policymakers working in the field to contribute and disseminate innovative new work in communication. All papers will be blind-reviewed, and accepted papers will be published twice a year, available online (open access) and in print on request.   Since Volume 6, No.1 (June 2005), Mediator has been "Accredited" based on DIKTI Decree No. 26/DIKTI/Kep/2005 until 2008. Since Volume 10, No.1 (June 2017), Mediator has been published online with the address: https://ejournal.unisba.ac.id/index.php/mediator/index. Since April 11, 2019, Mediator: Journal of Communication has obtained national accreditation Sinta 3. Then in December 2021, Mediator was ranked to Sinta 2 and is valid from volume 13 (2020) to volume 17 (2024) based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology Number 158/E/Kpt/2021 Regarding the Ranking of Scientific Journal Accreditation Period I in 2021. To maintain the stability of the journal website, currently, Mediator: Journal of Communication uses OJS 3 with the address: https://journals.unisba.ac.id/index.php/mediator.

MEDIATOR: Jurnal Komunikasi is an online peer-reviewed journal published twice a year in June and December.

We welcome any submission of manuscripts throughout the year.

Papers published in MEDIATOR are double-blinded peer-reviewed.

For the scope of the journal, do refer to our Aims and Scope.

Focuses on communication studies, media, and digital communication. Although centered on communication, the Mediator is open and welcomes the contribution of many disciplines and approaches that meet at a crossroads with communication studies. The type of writing is in the form of scientific articles based on the results of field research. This journal is intended as a medium of scientific study to communicate vision, reflection, conceptual thinking, research results, exciting experiences in the field, and critical analysis studies on contemporary communication issues.

MEDIATOR: JURNAL KOMUNIKASI is currently accepting manuscripts to be considered for publication in future journal issues.

Fast-track peer review
Rapid Journal Publication is important for certain cases where the authors need urgent Articles published in MEDIATOR: JURNAL KOMUNIKASI for many reasons, such as funding policy limitations, graduation time limits, and promotions deadlines. MEDIATOR: JURNAL KOMUNIKASI guarantees that such urgent and Rapid Journal Publication will not compromise quality.
It should be clear to all authors that there is no difference in the acceptance/ rejection rate when authors have opted for rapid review and fast publishing, and no preferences will be given for the fast-track journal publishing process.

Fast Track Consideration Limits:
As authors can expect, we can accept a very limited number of papers under fast-track peer review; this limitation is due to the reviewer’s ability to review papers within the given time limit for the Fast Publication track.
