Focus and Scope

STATISTIKA (JSTAT) is published by Department of Statistics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Bandung Islamic University. The aim of the STATISTIKA (JSTAT) is to publish original articles concerning statistical theories and it’s applications in diverse research fields related to statistics and data science. It also sometimes publishes review and expository articles on specific topics, which are expected to bring valuable information for researchers interested in the fields selected. The journal also contributes to broadening the coverage of statistics and data analysis in publishing articles based on innovative ideas. All articles are refereed by experts.

The intention in publishing such manuscripts is to provide an opportunity for readers (including those from the application area) to see the potential to revolutionize data analysis in the field. It is also hoped that such publication would provide an outlet for statisticians who may get little recognition in the statistics field for excellent, non-routine, clever, state-of-the-art work in subject areas. In order to make JSTAT accessible to a wide range of readers, specific sections are planned for each issue of the journal, including sections on theory and methods, statistical modeling, computational statistics, and other research fields, such as:

Actuarial Science: Financial Model in Life and Non-Life Insurance, Pension Funds, ReInsurance, Modelling of Interest, etc
Data Science: Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Image Processing, Natural Language Processing, BioInformatics, etc
Economic and Business: Financial Analysis, Econometrics, Time Series Analysis, Marketing Research, etc
Biostatistics and Demography: Epidemiology, Biometrics, Biostatistics in Social Science, Spatial Biostatistics, Public Health, Demography Science, etc
