Structure of the Manuscripts
Title. The title should be short, bright, and informative, but does not exceed 12 words. It has to be pinpoint with the issues discussed. The article title does not contain any uncommon abbreviation. The main ideas should be written first and followed then by its explanations.
Author’s names and institutions. The author's names should be accompanied by the author's institutions, institutions address, and email addresses, without any academic titles and job title.
Abstract. Abstracts are written in Indonesian and English. Abstract is made in one paragraph which consists of the background, objective, research methods, results, conclusions and keywords (3-5 phrases). Abstract should consist of 300-500 words.
Introduction. The introduction must contain (shortly and consecutively) a general background and a literature review (state of the art), the main research problems and research method. In the final part of the introduction, the purpose of the article writing should be stated.
Research Method. This section should provide sufficient details of the experiment, simulation, statistical test or analysis carried out to generate the results so that the method can be repeated by another researcher.
Results and Discussions. This part consists of the research results and how they are discussed. The results obtained from the research have to be supported by sufficient data. The research results and the discovery must be the answers, or the research hypothesis stated previously in the introduction part. The following components should be covered in the discussion: How do your results relate to the original question or objectives outlined in the Introduction section (what/how)? Do you provide interpretation scientifically for each of your results or findings presented (why)? Are your results consistent with what other investigators have reported (what else)? Or are there any differences?
Conclusions. Conclusion should answer the objectives of the research and the research discoveries. The concluding remark should not contain only the repetition of the results and discussions or abstract. You should also suggest future research and point out those that are underway.
References. The literature listed in the References contains only the sources referenced or included in the article. The bibliography is written after the acknowledgments. Use an 11-point, regular, unnumbered Times New Roman font, arranged alphabetically in APA/Harvard style. The references list contains more than 10 sources with minimum 70% of the references were published in the latest 5 years from the article submission date.
Submission
STATISTIKA has a fully web-based system for the submission and review of manuscripts. Submissions should be prepared in accordance with the Author Guidelines and uploaded to
https://journals.unisba.ac.id/index.php/statistika/index
Manuscripts may be returned to authors without a scientific assessment if they do not meet all submission requirements, if they are not in the correct format, or cannot be downloaded reliably.
Peer Review Process
Submissions must represent the original and independent work of the authors. Each new submission is assessed by one or more editors to determine whether it falls within focus and scope of Jurnal STATISTIKA. We will reject a manuscript without review if it contains insufficient statistical, data science content, and it’s applications; is mainly concerned with developing and advancing methodology and not primarily with the application of these methods to statistics and data science; there are substantive issues with the design, methodology, or data quality; it exceeds our word limit or is incorrectly formatted; it is poorly presented and unclear.
STATISTIKA Review Guideline
Step 1: Editorial assessment
Peer review follows a number of stages, beginning with submitting your article to a journal. At this first stage, the Editor-in-Chief will decide if it’s suitable for the journal, asking questions such as:
- Has the author followed the journal’s guidelines?
- Is this the right journal for this article?
- Will the journal’s readers find it interesting and useful?
The editor might reject the article immediately, but otherwise it will move to the next stage, and into peer review.
Step 2: First round of peer review
If the manuscript passes the editorial assessment, it will be assigned to a editor, who will then send it to at least two experts in the relevant field to undergo a double-blind peer-review. Manuscripts that fail to pass the initial screening will be rejected without further review.
Step 3: Second round of peer review
The editor will find and contact potential referees or other researchers or academics who are experts in your field. They will be asked to read your article, and advise the editor whether to publish your paper in that journal
Step 4: Revise and resubmit
You can then amend your article based on the reviewers’ comments, resubmitting it with any or all changes made. You may be asked to make further revisions or the paper may be rejected if the editor thinks that the revisions you have made are not adequate.
Step 5: Final decision
At this stage, the revised manuscript will either be accepted or rejected. This decision is dependent whether the editor finds the manuscript to have been improved to a level worthy of publication. If the author(s) are unable to make the required changes or have done so to a degree below the journal's standards, the manuscript will be rejected.
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are assigned to a subject expert in our team of Associate Editors to oversee the review process. All papers are subject to peer review and authors can expect a decision, or an explanation for the delay, within a month of receipt. If a revision is invited, the corresponding author should submit the revised manuscript within 2 weeks. The final decision is taken by one of the senior editors based on the information gained through the peer review process.
Types of Decisions
Decline: Following peer review, the paper is judged not to be acceptable for publication in Jurnal STATISTIKA and resubmission is not possible.
Resubmit: The submitted version of the paper is not acceptable and requires major revision but there is clear potential in the work and Jurnal STATISTIKA is prepared to consider a new version. Authors are offered the opportunity to resubmit their paper as a new submission. Concerns will remain regarding the suitability of the paper for publication until the editors are convinced by the authors that their paper fits the scope and standards of Jurnal STATISTIKA. The resubmitted manuscript will be returned to the original associate editor if at all possible.
Revision: The paper requires changes before a final decision can be made. Authors are asked to modify their manuscript in light of comments received from referees and editors, and to submit a new version for consideration within 2 weeks of receiving the decision letter. A point-by-point explanation of how comments have been addressed must be supplied with the revised version of the paper. Revisions may undergo further peer review and papers may undergo more than one round of revision. If the authors do not revise their papers to the satisfaction of the editors, the paper can still be declined from publication in Jurnal STATISTIKA.
Final acceptance: The paper is acceptable for publication, subject to conditions that need to be addressed in producing a final version of the manuscript. These may include sub-editing changes and a minor amendments to ensure the paper fully matches our criteria. After final checking in the editorial office, acceptance is confirmed and the paper is forwarded to the publishers for publication.
