Plagiarism Check

The Editorial Team of Masagi: Jurnal Pendidikan Karakter is aware that plagiarism is unacceptable and, therefore, has established the following policy stating special actions (penalties) if plagiarism is found in articles submitted for publication in Masagi: Journal of Character Education. For this reason, before submission, Masagi: Journal of Character Education advises authors to check plagiarism independently. If the article is accepted, Masagi: Journal of Character Education will carry out a plagiarism check before publication.

Definition:

Plagiarism is an act of intentionally or unintentionally obtaining or attempting to obtain credit or value for a scientific work by quoting part or all of another party's work and/or scientific work, which is recognized as scientific work, without stating the source accurately and adequately.

For that, then:

Articles must be original, not previously published, and not pending publication elsewhere. Material taken orally from other sources needs to be identified so that it is different from the original text.

If plagiarism is identified, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will approve action according to the level of plagiarism detected, with the following guidelines:

Plagiarism Rate:

  1. Plagiarize several short sentences from other articles without citing the source. Action: The author is given a warning and a request to change the text and cite it properly.
  2. Plagiarizing large portions of other articles without proper citations and not citing the sources. Action: The submitted article is rejected for publication in Masagi: Journal of Character Education. The author may be subject to sanctions because it is not allowed to publish in Masagi: Journal of Character Education.

All article authors are responsible for the content of the articles they submit. If an article is classified as plagiarized, all authors will be subject to the same action.

If the author is proven to have submitted the manuscript to Masagi: Journal of Character Education and at the same time sent it to another journal, and this is discovered during the review process or after publication. Action will be taken according to point 2 above, and the article will be withdrawn.

If an act of plagiarism is found outside the provisions above, the editorial team of Masagi: Journal of Character Education has the right to impose sanctions according to the editorial team's policy.
