Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines
The following are instructions for writing a paper in the Masagi: Jurnal Pendidikan Karakter. The authors are fully responsible for the contents of the manuscripts written, and the manuscripts are writings that have never been published. The reference list uses the APA 7th edition.
Title
Indonesian title written in Goudy Old Style 16pt Font (Max 15 Words or 150 characters, bold)
Author Name1, Author Name2
Author's institution (affiliate)1, Author's institution (affiliate)2
Address.email@mail.ac.id (first author's email)
The title must be clear, straightforward, brief and informative, which represents the contents of the article, a maximum of 15 words or 150 characters, 16pt font size, boldface and only the first letter of a word is printed in capitals.
The author's name is written clearly without a title. Only corresponding e-mails are displayed. If the corresponding author is not the first author, an * symbol can be added to the corresponding author's e-mail.
Abstract [Goudy Old Style 12, bold]
The contents of the abstract must contain a summary of the background, research objectives, methods, findings and main conclusions of the writing. Abstract writing in Indonesian is written left-right and aligned, with one space and one column. The word "Abstract" as the title is written in Goudy Old Style 12 point font, bold, left aligned, the first letter is in capital letters. The abstract text is written in Goundy Old Style 12 point font, single spaced, with a minimum of 100 words up to approximately 200 words. After the Indonesian abstract, write down the keywords of the manuscript, 3 to 5 words/phrases. Then it continues with the main text of the manuscript.
Keywords
Keywords are written in 3-5 words/phrases, which should be a subset of the title of the manuscript and separated by commas between words/phrases.
Manuscript Structure
Manuscripts are written with structure; 1. Introduction, 2. Methods (can include analysis, architecture, methods used to solve problems, implementation), 3. Results and Discussion, 4. Conclusion, and 5. Reference List.
The introduction answers the following questions: (1). Background; (2). Brief literature review of related research; (3) Reasons for conducting this research; and (4) Purpose question. State of the art, gap analysis, and novelty can be seen here. Avoid discussing general literature reviews and definitions.
Research Methodology
Describe the preparation method and characterization techniques used. Describe briefly but remain accurate, such as size, volume, replication, and machining techniques. New methods should be explained in detail so that other researchers can reproduce the experiment. Meanwhile, established methods can be explained by picking references.
Script Length
The manuscript is written on A4 paper size with a maximum number of pages of 5000 words, including tables and figures and excluding bibliography, spacing between paragraphs 1 and referring to the writing procedures that have been prepared in this document.
Results and Discussion
The series of research results is based on a logical sequence/arrangement to form a story. The contents show facts/data and do not discuss the results. You can use Tables and Figures but do not repeatedly describe the same data in images, tables, and text. To further clarify the description, you can use subtitles.
The discussion is a basic explanation, and relationships and generalizations are shown by the results. The description answers the research question. If there are doubtful results, then present them objectively.
Manuscript Layouts
An easy way to create layouts is to use this guide directly. It is recommended not to use numbering (1, 2, 3, a, b, c, etc.) in discussing the manuscript; instead, change it into sentences. Avoid using bullets/ordered lists with * √ and other symbols. Avoid blank sections of the page.
So that the submitted manuscript can be processed immediately by the editor, ensure it has been written properly and carefully following the instructions in this guide.
Table
Tables should be numbered in the order of presentation (Table 1, etc.). The table title is written above the table in a centered position, without bold or colored print. The font size used is 11 for both titles and tables and table contents, font 10. Tables must be referenced and referred to in the text. There are no plumb lines in the table.
Picture
Figures are numbered in the order of presentation (Fig. 1, etc.). The title of the image is placed below the image in the center position (center-justified). The font used in the image title is 11pt. Images must be referenced in the text.
Formula
Formulas are written clearly using equations with index numbers, and explanations of formula variables are written in paragraph form, not item lists.
Listing Program
Program listings and algorithm design are written using Goundy Old Style font (12pt) with a fixed-width
Page Specifications
Use the Goundy Old Style font throughout the text, with the font size as exemplified in this writing guide. The spacing is single, and the contents of the text or manuscript use left-right alignment (justified). The page size is A4 (210 mm x 297 mm). Page margins are 2.54 cm top-down, left, and right.
An easy way to write scripts is to write directly in a journal template.
Conclusion
No references should be in the conclusion. The conclusion contains the facts obtained, sufficient to answer the problem or research objectives (they do not constitute further discussion). State the possible applications, implications, and speculations as appropriate. If necessary, provide suggestions for further research. State the conclusion in sentences or paragraphs, not in numbers.
References
Mendeley/Zotero tools are recommended for referral management. Everything listed in the bibliography/reference must be referred to/referenced in the manuscript. The bibliography must include a minimum of 30 primary and recent references (the last 10 years), written in 12pt font size, and using the APA 7th edition citation method.
