This research focuses on the impact of neoliberalism on individual identity, using Byung-Chul Han’s perspective as the analytical framework. Neoliberalism, with its emphasis on competition, productivity, and personal success, has created individuals who feel alienated and have lost their authentic identity. The research methodology employed is a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results indicate that individuals in neoliberal societies feel trapped by the constant demand to succeed, ultimately leading to feelings of alienation and identity crisis. However, some individuals try to find alternatives to cope with this crisis through self-reflection and the search for deeper meaning in life. This study contributes to enhancing understanding of the social and psychological impacts of neoliberalism on individuals and opens up further discussion on how individuals can reshape their identities within a pressure-filled social system.
