Abstract.
Early childhood development, especially during infancy, is significantly influenced by optimal stimulation, one of which is sensory play that engages the senses. Parental involvement in managing sensory play, particularly in communication aspects, is crucial for maximizing its benefits for child development. This study analyzes the forms of parental communication involvement in sensory play activities for infants aged 6-12 months. Using a qualitative approach with a case study method, the subjects consisted of three parents actively engaged in sensory play. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and video documentation, then analyzed using data reduction techniques. The results showed that forms of parental communication involvement included verbal communication (naming objects, describing textures), nonverbal communication (facial expressions, eye contact), and responsive communication (responses to children's initiatives). This involvement positively impacts children's development in cognitive, language, social-emotional, as well as fine and gross motor aspects. In conclusion, parental communication involvement in sensory play is essential for infant development.
