Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional terhadap Academic Burnout pada Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung

Abstract. In several studies conducted previously, the heavy academic load on medical students can cause academic burnout. Academic Burnout that is not addressed properly is worried that it will have an impact on the residency stage. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of emotional intelligence on Academic Burnout in first to third year students of the Faculty of Medicine, Bandung Islamic niversity. To describe the effect of emotional intelligence on Academic Burnout The research method used is Quantitative with non-experimental causality design. The data analysis used was simple linear regression involving 248 subjects from first to third year students of the Faculty of Medicine, Bandung Islamic University with Convenience Sampling Technique. Academic Burnout was measured using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) measuring instrument adapted by Agustia (2015) and the Emotional Intelligence measuring instrument using the Emotional Intelligence Inventory (EII) which was compiled based on aspects of Goleman and adapted by Arlinkasari & Akmal (2017). The results of this study indicate that emotional intelligence has an influence on Academic Burnout by 86.3%. The majority of Faculty of Medicine students have high emotional intelligence, namely 90% and 53.6% of students have a low level of Academic Burnout.
Abstrak. Dalam beberapa penelitian yang dilakukan sebelumnya beban Akademik berat pada Mahasiswa Kedokteran dapat menyebabkan academic burnout. Academic Burnout yang tidak diatasi dengan baik khawatir akan berdampak pada tahap residensi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap academic Burnout pada mahasiswa tahun pertama hingga ketiga Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung. Untuk menggambarkan pengaruh kecerdasan emosional terhadap Academic Burnout. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah Kuantitatif dengan rancangan kausalitas non eksperimental. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah regresi linier sederhana yang melibatkan 248 subjek yang berasal dari Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Islam Bandung tingkat satu sampai tiga dengan Teknik Convenience Sampling. Academic Burnout diukur dengan menggunakan alat ukur Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Survey (MBI-SS) yang diadaptasi oleh Agustia (2015) dan alat ukur Kecerdasan Emosional menggunakan Emotional Intelligence Inventory (EII) yang disusun berdasarkan aspek-aspek dari Goleman dan diadaptasi oleh Arlinkasari & Akmal (2017). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Kecerdasan emosional memiliki pengaruh terhadap academic burnout sebesar 86,3%. Mayoritas Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran memiliki kecerdasan emosi yang tinggi yakni sebanyak 90% serta sebesar 53,6% Mahasiswa memiliki tingkat Academic Burnout yang rendah.
