Abstract

Abstract. Jazz music is a genre of music that is complex and difficult to play, jazz players are required to be able to play notes spontaneously and play improvisation in them. When a person feels flow, he will feel happiness and satisfaction in his life thereby increasing SWB. However, based on interviews, jazz music is not music that is commonly listened to so that when musicians are worried about it, they are not prosperous. Other research also shows that music can also influence a person's negative affect. The research was conducted on Jazz musicians in the KlabJazz community who performed at 6 events held by KlabJazz. The subjects consisted of 32 KlabJazz musicians. The research method used is non-experimental causality method. The measuring instrument used to measure flow is the Flow State Scale-2 developed by Jackson et al (2008) adapted by Triandita & Rosiana (2017) and the measuring instrument for measuring SWB is SPANE and SWLS developed by Diener et al. (2009) available online at the website eddiener.com. The data analysis technique used is simple linear regression analysis. The results of the study found that there was a positive influence of Flow on SWB with an R square of 0.359 or 35.9% with the results on the SWB aspect of the affective aspect that all participants got positive results but on the cognitive aspect there were 13 subjects who got low results, so it was written that flow has a greater influence on the emotional aspect than the cognitive aspect
