Abstract

Abstract. College students are part of early adulthood who are in the transition from adolescence to adulthood, with an age range of 18 to 25 years, and are faced with various developmental tasks, one of which is related to career development. A fundamental component is needed in the form of career identity. Building career identity is based on two behavioral elements in the form of exploration and commitment. The Merdeka Belajar - Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program is part of the implementation of career exploration for students. However, there are still students of the Unisba MBKM program who have progressive exploration but low commitment after implementing the program. This study aims to obtain an empirical picture of career identity in MBKM program students at Unisba. Data collection was carried out online with cluster random sampling technique. The method used in this research is a descriptive study (N = 86; 24% male; 76% female) respondents. The measuring instrument used is the utrecht management of identity commitments scale of 10 items that have been adjusted into the career domain by Stringer & Kerpelman (2010) based on the dimensions of identification with commitment and exploration in depth. Research on career identity shows 27 students (31%) are in the low category, and 59 students (69%) are in the high category. In the identification with commitment dimension, 84 students (98%) were in the high category, and the exploration in-depth dimension, 79 (92%) students were in the high category. This study contributes to the literature on career identity and other contributions described.

Abstrak. Mahasiswa merupakan bagian dari dewasa awal yang berada pada transisi dari remaja menuju dewasa, dengan rentan usia 18 hingga 25 tahun yang dihadapkan pada berbagai tugas perkembangan salah satunya berkaitan dengan perkembangan karier. Untuk mencapai karier tersebut diperlukan komponen mendasar berupa identitas karier. Membangun career identity dilandasi oleh dua elemen perilaku berupa eksplorasi dan komitmen. Program Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) merupakan bagian dari pelaksanaan eksplorasi karier bagi para mahasiswa. Namun, masih ditemukan mahasiswa program MBKM Unisba yang memiliki eksplorasi yang progresif namun komitmen karir yang rendah setelah melaksanakan program. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperoleh gambaran empiris mengenai career identity pada mahasiswa program MBKM di Unisba. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan online melalui google form dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi deskriptif (N= 86; 24% laki-laki; 76% perempuan) responden. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah The Utrecht Management of Identity Commitments Scale sebanyak 10 item yang telah disesuaikan ke dalam domain karier oleh Stringer & Kerpelman (2010) berdasarkan dimensi identification with commitment dan exploration in depth. Hasil penelitian mengenai career identity menunjukkan sebanyak 27 mahasiswa (31%) dalam kategori rendah, dan 59 mahasiswa (69%) dalam kategori tinggi. Pada dimensi identification with commitment sebanyak 84 mahasiswa (98%) kategori tinggi, dan pada dimensi exploration in-depth sebanyak 79 (92%) mahasiswa kategori tinggi. Studi ini berkontribusi untuk literatur mengenai career identity dan kontribusi lain yang dijelaskan.
