Makna Politik Citra dalam Foto IPPHOS

Absract. Indonesia post-independence political image has suffered in many ways, depending only on ideology and rhetoric. Soekarno took advantage of this with his close relationship with photojournalists including IPHHOS. The IPPHOS photos are dissected with Roland Barthes Studium Punctum theory. Studium, the maturity and professionalism of the division of tasks of IPPHOS Jakarta and Yogaykarta in accordance with the character of the Mendur brothers so as to produce photos with character as well. Punctum, Soekarno closeness and foresight with photojournalists, utilizing this closeness to improve the image of Soekarno and Indonesia through photography.
Abstrak. Citra politik pasca kemerdekaan Indonesia dalam berbagai hal terpuruk, hanya bergantung dari ideologi dan retorika. Soekarno memanfaatkan itu dengan modal kedekatannya dengan wartawan foto termasuk IPHHOS. Foto-foto IPPHOS tersebut dibedah dengan teori Studium Punctum Roland Barthes. Studium, kematangan dan profesionalisme pembagian tugas IPPHOS Jakarta dan Yogaykarta sesuai dengan karakter Mendur bersaudara sehingga menghasilkan foto yang berkarakter pula. Punctum, kedekatan dan kejelian Soekarno dengan pewarta foto, memanfaatkan kedekatan tersebut untuk memperbaiki citra Soekarno dan Indonesia melalui karya fotografi.
