Abstract

Abstract. Wound is a condition where biological tissue is damaged so that it can cause effects in the form of bleeding, cellular and anatomical damage to tissue function and can cause bacterial contamination. Somebody can treat wounds on the body with synthetic drugs and natural ingredients. Natural materials that can be used contain flavonoid compounds, one of plant’s secondary metabolites. This study aimed was to determine the potential of flavonoid compounds as a wound treatment. This research was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review method. The results showed that flavonoid compounds can be used as wound medicine due to their antioxidant, antibacterial and immunostimulatory activities. Flavonoids has a direct role in the Wnt/β-catenin, TFG-β, JNK, Nrf2/ARE and Nf- kB signaling pathways that affect wound healing.
